yoga hang up

I'm glad you posted this, because sometimes I don't have my mp3 player near me (or charged) and I want to practice outside (so the laptop in front of me is out of the question)... then I don't practice at all, because I feel I won't be doing it "right". I need to get past that, because that's the only way I'll feel the benefits of yoga (by actually doing it on a consistent basis).

I caved and listened to "meditation" music a month ago - and I'm glad I did! I had such bad expectations when it came to meditation stuff, I was afraid I'd be too distracted by the weirdness of it! I like it, though, and it's surprisingly calming. It has helped me slow my thoughts, by concentrating on the pitch of a mantra, or the notes of one of the instruments.
i've found that just some simple breathing in a quiet space for 5 minutes a day is beneficial. i don't even need an entire yoga sequence or a serious effort at meditation. i would love to be able to practice every day, but the reality of it is pretty impossible sometimes.
